Gender equality is one of the biggest tactical blunder of the western
thought and culture. But at the same time i will also say that "there is
no tool for development more effective than the empowerment of women".
Moreover, while talking about women's concerns i do outline the quote of Swami
Vivekananda that" There is no chance for the welfare of the world unless
the condition of women is improved. It is not possible for a bird to fly on
only one wing". Women empowerment is the need
of the hour, is not by equality but by equity. Which is why, the United Nations
included women empowerment as one of the prime goals in the eight Millennium
Development Goals emphasizes the relevance of this fact. For God's sake, don't
see woman as object or commodity, and see as your own sister and respect her as
own sister as well. The purpose of being female has been reduced to being a
commodity or male objectification caused due to corporate culture, it is a
shame for us. In our society a single woman is always considered to be an
object of ridicule, or as a social outcaste whether single women be widows,
divorcees or unmarried. It is a social stigma. Please do away with and stop
commodification and male objectification of female form.
